Abstract
The electrolysis of diethyl sodiomalonate in ethanol gives tetraethyl ethane-1,1,2,2-tetracarboxylate, hexaethyl propane-1,1,2,2,3,3-hexacarboxylate, and tetraethyl 2-methylpropane-1,1,3,3-tetracarboxylate. In NN-dimethylacetamide the products are tetraethyl ethane-1,1,2,2-tetracarboxylate and tetraethyl propane-1,1,3,3-tetracarboxylate. The electrolysis of diethyl sodiomethylmalonate gives tetraethyl butane-2,2,3,3-tetracarboxylate and tetraethyl butane-1,1,3,3-tetracarboxylate.Keywords
