TRANSPLANTATION OF THE EXTERNAL OBLIQUE MUSCLE FOR ABDUCTOR PARALYSIS

Abstract
1. The abductor limp is not eliminated by transplantation of the external oblique muscle, but it may be lessened. 2. Most patients have reported a substantial increase in their sense of security and an improvement in their gait. 3. Transfer of the insertion of the external oblique muscle to the greater trochanter has reduced fatigue and increased endurance.
