Temporal Modulation of Traveling Waves

Abstract
It is demonstrated that traveling waves lose stability with respect to standing waves under the influence of a spatially homogeneous temporal modulation in three different experimental systems. A phase diagram consistent with a recent theoretical prediction is presented.Keywords
