Abstract
Two-phonon spectra of Raman scattering and infrared absorption of NaNO2 crystals were obtained and interpreted. Spectroscopic data were compared with the data on inelastic neutron scattering. A new vibration with 65 cm−1 frequency was observed which was not found in the first-order Raman spectra and neutron scattering. Anomalous temperature dependence of this band is supposed to be connected with structural changes in the crystal lattice in the vicinity of ferroelectric transition. Keywords
