Abstract
It is shown that the ferroelectric properties of cadmium pyroniobate differ substantially from the properties of other ferroelectrics. This difference consists of an unusual behaviour of the dielectric permittivity in the region of the ferroelectric phase transition and an unusual field dependence of the polarization and the ferroelectric transition temperature. Some data on domain structure, thermal expansion and elastic properties are given. Keywords
