Abstract

Partial syntheses of 3α, 7α-dihydroxy-5β-cholan-24-al through Grundmann aldehyde synthesis and of 3α, 7α-dihydroxy-5β -cholest-24-en-26-oic acid through Wittig reaction were described. _*Dedicated to Dr. Koozoo Kaziro, Professor Emeritus of the Nippon Medical School, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
