Abstract
A finite displacement analysis for the DCB test, including the effects of end blocks, is described. A simple numerical method enables G to be computed for any configuration and examples are given of correction factors for several geometries. It is also demonstrated that if the horizontal distance from the load line to the crack tip is measured then G can be found exactly from the usual expression. Results are given for both mode I and mode II tests. Keywords
