Abstract
A population of about 50 H. ridleyi was located in a lowland peat forest in Malaysia. Females gave birth concurrently with several other species [H. armiger, H. diadema, H. bicolor, H. cineraceus, H. galeritus, Nycteris javanica, Megaderma spasma, M. lyra, Taphozous melanopogon, Tadarida mops and Emballonura monticola] of bats. A compilation of new and published pregnancy and nursing data indicates that 2 reproductive periods occur yearly in Malaysian Microchiroptera.
