Photogenerated chloride ion concentration near the surface of UV-irradiated titanium dioxide in the presence of aqueous 2,4-dichlorophenol probed using an ultramicroelectrode

Abstract
The photomineralisation of aqueous 2,4-dichlorophenol at a near-UV-irradiated titanium dioxide film has been monitored using an ultramicroelectrode stationed at micrometre distances from the film surface. The production of Cl can be successfully modelled on the basis of a heterogeneous process at the TiO2/aqueous interface.
