Abstract
A ten-year follow-up on forty-two patients (a total of forty-three hands) operated on by arthrodesis of the trapeziometacarpal joint for degenerative arthritis shows relief of pain, maintenance of stability and mobility of the first ray and good function of the operated hands. Patients were pleased with the results. Arthrodesis is a safe and conservative method of treatment. Keywords
