Abstract
Practical details in accurate ferrous sulphate dosimetry are discussed, including a new method for estimating the extinction coefficient of Fe3+ ion. Errors in the ferrous sulphate G-value amounting to several per cent can arise due to the presence of impurities in the analytical reagent grade sulphuric acid normally used to make up the dosemeter solution. Simple methods of removing this difficulty are described. Keywords
