Abstract
STOCKHOLM-- The growing interest among genetics researchers in the public tissue banks of Sweden and some other Nordic countries, whose long-standing public health care systems have been stockpiling unique collections of human tissue for decades, has led authorities to take steps to protect patient privacy. The Swedish government has ordered the National Board of Health and Welfare to work out a proposal for a new law regulating the creation and use of tissue banks. Danish and Norwegian authorities are also looking into new legal frameworks. Keywords
