Abstract
Lactic acid accounted for about 75-80% of the glucose. The lactic-acid yield did not vary much when cultural conditions were varied. The % of lactic acid was the same in cultures of hemolytic streptococci. Some types of pneumococci were more efficient in breaking down glucose than others. Inorganic phosphate seemed to be particularly favorable for glucose breakdown. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
