Abstract
Through the voices of prominent practitioners, this article explores the ways group leaders create a sense of community in their groups and, in turn, become part of a professional community. Trends in the past set a context for understanding the personal development many group leaders experience. These personal transformations have led to social changes in their group work and interpersonal lives. Group leaders are urged to play more proactive roles in creating a greater sense of community in their everyday lives. Keywords
