Abstract
The problem of the “magnetic pulsating pole” is examined from an analytical viewpoint and an integral solution is reached with the use of Hankel’s Integrals. However, a complete explanation was derived only with respect to the horizontal component of the magnetic field. In addition the problem of the “pulsating magnetic dipole” is also explored and similarly a complete explanation is derived only for the horizontal component. The application of the results of these analyses to field prospecting methods is also discussed.
