Amylase in Fallopian Tubes.

Abstract
Amylase levels of Fallopian tubes and sera from various animals were determined using Van Loon''s method. In the human, rabbit, cow and sheep, the Fallopian tube amylase was higher than the corresponding serum amylase levels which indicated formation of amylase in the tubes of these animals. In the rat, dog, cat, hog, guinea pig and monkey, amylase was found in the tubes but the serum levels were higher. The amylase levels of cysts found associated with some of the human tubes ranged from 2,000-37,000 amylase units/100 g. Monkey serum amylase levels were about 6-10 times those of the human.
