Abstract
Periodic and rhythmic behavioural phenomena manifested in shell movements were investigated in mussels by registering the activity of the adductor muscles. The control of rhythmic patterns may be explained by the activity of independent or partially coupled oscillators located in different neurone populations of the same or of different ganglia. Keywords
