Abstract
Estimates are made of the energy expenditure necessary for propelling mounted cyclists at speeds up to the maximum recorded for prolonged periods of riding, unpaced, on level roads. Two methods of calculation are presented, one based on the oxygen consumption of cyclists actually riding on the road and recorded in the literature, the other upon recorded data concerning the tractive resistances exhibited by moving mounted cyclistsKeywords
