Abstract

Treatment of fluorinated aromatic compounds with (C₅H₅)₂ZrCl₂, HgCl₂, Mg or (C₅H₅)₂ZrCl₂, PMe₃, Mg results in selective room temperature hydrogenolysis of aromatic C–F bonds.
