Peak carbon monoxide levels of 30 ppm were found during a work shift in a poorly ventilated tavern. A time-weighted average concentration of 17 ppm CO and elevated particulate levels were found. The occupational exposure to cigarette effluents is discussed in light of OSHA [USA Occupational Safety and Health Act] regulations.
