Abstract
In 21 newly diagnosed male patients with disseminated bronchial cancer, anemia was a reduced serum concentration of testosterone. Erythropoietin levels were increased in anemic patients. The results suggest a normal erythropoietin response to anemia in this condition. The reduced testosterone concentration is associated with normal levels of luteinizing hormone and its significance in the pathogenesis of the anemia is uncertain. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
