"A report of observations on 50 Italians in Italy and 50 Italian Americans in U. S. A., studied by identical technics, with regard to: age at 1st drink, parental attitudes toward subjects'' use of wine, subjects'' attitudes toward giving wine to children, subjects''attitudes toward own drinking, excessive drinking, caloric contributions of alcoholic beverages to diet and total caloric intake. Desers. are given of the drinking pattern of 7 Italian American subjects and of 7 Italian subjects, the latter characterized by having had more than 6 episodes of excessive drinking.
