Abstract
The isolation and characterization of gelatin from 12,000-year-old deer antlers is described. Use of gelatin from ancient bones for carbon-14 dating may improve the accuracy of the dating procedure because gelatin is not likely to be contaminated by extraneous carbon.Keywords
