Abstract
The ear is always present in anencephaly but is commonly abnormal and shows features seen in deaf children with congenital ear anomalies. The temporal bone in anencephaly was studied radiologically and histologically. The inner ear was abnormal in all ears examined and the bones of the skull were extensively deformed. The anencephalic ear provides a good experimental model in congenital deafness. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
