Abstract

Discusses superior results obtained from laboratory evaluation of ship bottom coatings as compared with ship trial tests. Explains value of rapid evaluation, easy replication and controlled conditions which are possible with lab tests but not on ship trials. Describe tests conducted to study drydock variables, wash primer for pretreatment and influence of coatings on pitting rate of protected steel. 2.3.2
