Relational sexuality: An understanding of low sexual desire

Abstract
Low sexual desire is discussed within the context ofthe relationship in which it occurs, with emphasis on each partner intrapsychic issues as they intersect with the interpersonal issues between them. The conceptualization o f the problem is based in object relations theory, whereas treatment involves systems theory and gestalt and experiential psychotherapy. Relational sexuality and intimacy in marriage are presented as foundations for treatment procedures. The therapy techniques are illustrated by case examples.Keywords
