Abstract
Five cases of Nocardia infection are briefly described, 4 due to N. asteroides and 1 to N. brasiliensis. The latter represents the 1st reported case of N. brasiliensis infection in Israel. In 3 of the patients, the infections were associated with an underlying disease process and with prolonged high-dosage therapy with steroids and/or cytotoxic drugs. In the other 2 patients, the disease was spontaneous.
