Abstract
A method for the analysis of milk fatty acids has been developed. Known mixtures of fatty acids were converted to methyl esters and to butyl esters and separated by gas-liquid chromatography. The methyl esters were separated on a diethylene glycol succinate column, and the butyl esters were separated on an Apiezon L column with temperature programming in order to estimate the short chain esters. Correction factors were obtained from GLC analyses of the known mixtures. The method was applied to milk fat, and the results are presented. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
