Abstract
The San Andreas Fault and a large fault off British Columbia are interpreted as examples of the recently proposed "transform faults." They are joined by a short, isolated length of oceanic ridge striking N20°E, with an associated "window" of young crust. The displacement along these faults is estimated at 400 kilometers. Keywords
