Abstract
For the reaction of various silyl-lithium compounds with tetrahydrofuran (R3SiLi + C4H8O → R3Si·CH2·CH2·CH2·CH2·O–Li+) the thermodynamic constants of activation at 30° for Ph3SiLi, MePh2SiLi, and Me2PhSiLi respectively are : ΔG‡ 26·7, 26·1, and 26·4 kcal. mole–1; ΔH‡ 22·6, 15·1, and 19·0 kcal. mole–1; ΔS‡–13·6, –36·5, and –24·5 cal. deg.–1 mole–1.Keywords
