Abstract
Ultrasound in 29 patients with proven liver abscesses was analyzed. Ten patients were examined in the early stages of abscess formation and echo characteristics were recorded in detail. A peripheral echo-free halo, distal acoustic enhancement and progressive change over a short time were helpful features. These features suggest an early abscess. This combination was not seen in other space-occupying lesions of the liver. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
