Abstract
A human case of bilateral renal cell carcinoma associated with von Hippel-Lindau syndrome and treated successfully with staged bilateral nephrectomy and hemodialysis is reported. The literature is reviewed with special emphasis on early diagnosis based on family history. Hemodialysis is a logical treatment modality. This disease, unlike adult renal cell carcinoma, is multifocal and poorly treated with partial nephrectomy. This publication has 19 references indexed in Scilit:
