Abstract
A reappraisal of histological embedding media has shown the advantages of methyl metharcrylate softened with suitable plasticisers to a point where it can be cut with a steel knife using a conventional microtome. A detailed method is included, designed to produce stock solutions which can be used routinely in the Histology Laboratory to produce thin sections free from processing artifact.
