Abstract
In the cotton campaign 1949-50 of 6 cotton valleys of the Central Coast the most dangerous insect, Heliothis virescens. was controlled by its natural enemies, especially Paratriphleps laeviusculus. Irrigation was restricted, to avoid a juicy growth of leaves and stems. To increase rapidly the no. of the natural enemies at the beginning of the season, corn must be planted early within the rows of the cotton fields. The harvest of these valleys was about 20% better than a normal yield and 40% higher than in the previous campaign when organic insecticides were applied early in the season.[long dash]From auth. concl. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
