Abstract
Birth trauma is no longer a common cause of cerebral palsy. The disorder has many possible causes, however, and should be considered in differential diagnosis if a child's development is not progressing normally. The outlook for patients is optimistic, says Dr Erenberg, with early detection and full use of treatment options. Keywords
