Abstract
Retention and plasma concentration were measured for 2 years after a single intravenous injection. Retention (% dose) follows the power function (t in days) R = 71t-0.20. Comparison with similar studies of Ra226 metabolism shows the anticipated similarity. There are real differences, however. Sr90 retention is less even though Ra226 is excreted more efficiently. This results from higher Sr90 plasma concentration. The retention equation can be used to calculate average radiation dose rates. Keywords
