Abstract
Hepatic encephalopathy is a multifactorial neuropsychiatric syndrome accompanying acute or chronic liver failure. Techniques for developing animal models of hepatic encephalopathy associated with acute or chronic liver failure, or vascular shunting are illustrated. In addition, the behavioral and biochemical characteristics of these models are described. Keywords
