The aims of the study are to examine the professional characteristics and attitudes towards their work of the graduates. To follow their professional careers over a three to four year period and to note changes in job patterns and attitudes towards the profession. A high response rate was obtained and the predominant characteristic of respondents fit the traditional idealised pattern. The majority were in social work kinds of employment and expected to stay in their chosen profession. Only a small number said they were members or interested to become members of a relevant professional association.
