Broadband surface emitting multilayers for visible lasers and wavelength division demultiplexers

Abstract

Nonperiodic modifications in the position and refractive index values of the multilayer are shown to yield large enhancements over the complete visible spectrum instead of at a single wavelength. A demonstration of large bandwidth WDM demultiplexers and spectrometers is presented.
