Abstract
Annual data since 1886 on bags of grouse, ptarmigan, capercailzie, and blackgame shot on several Scottish estates exhibit significant correlations one with the other. The size of the annual bag is not correlated in any species with May or June rainfall or with June temperature, but the annual bag of capercailzie is correlated with minimum winter temperatures, May temperatures, and mean rainfall for Aug., Sept. and Oct.
