Abstract
A data acquisition and control system for an adiabatic specific heat apparatus is described which is based on a PET microcomputer and an ASL A7 automatic resistance bridge. The PET is used both for control and on-line reduction of data and the A7 bridge is used for temperature measurement. Details are given of ancillary circuits and examples are given of important program commands. A novel method of operation of the A7 is also described which allows a worthwhile improvement in the resolution to be obtained. Rapid development of the system was facilitated by the fact that the entire program could be written in BASIC.Keywords
