Abstract
This paper presents the issues pertinent to a multivariable control system for a phased telescope array imaging system. A description of the envisioned system, the discrete time state space model of the system, the measurement techniques, estimation/control algorithms, and Monte Carlo simulation results are presented. Initially, an extended Kalman filter is used as the estimator and its simulation performance is compared with that of a linearized Kalman filter with no difference in performance found. Additionally, successful test results from a laboratory two-beam prototype control system testbed are presented.Keywords
