Abstract
To the editor: Dr. Kremer states in his review of the usefulness of cytarabine (Ann Intern Med 82:684-688, 1975) that "three different regimens involving combinations of cytarabine with other active agents have consistently produced a complete remission rate greater than 50% in adults" (with acute myeloblastic leukemia), and he cites the work of Clarkson (1), Crowther and associates (2), and Whitecar and colleagues (3). Actually, the complete remission rates in the studies cited are somewhat lower than Dr. Kremer indicates.
