Abstract
Observations on the 10 patients treated with antibiotics would seem to justify the following conclusions: The immediate beneficial effect is prompt and dramatic. Although complete clinical remission may occur, relapses are common. No patient who has received penicillin and streptomycin in large doses for 10 to 14 days and subsequent long-term tetracycline therapy has relapsed. In light of our present knowledge, no one should die of intestinal lipodystrophy (Whipple''s disease). This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
