Salmonella enteritidis: Experimental Transmission by the Rocky Mountain Wood Tick Dermacentor andersoni Stiles

Abstract
S. enteritidis, ingested by D. andersoni, survived in the tick and was transmitted by it to guinea pigs. Possibly the bacterium may be passed on occasionally through the egg of the tick to the active stages of the next generation. The tick excrement was infectious when inoculated into guinea pigs.
