Characteristics of Avian Transmissible Lymphoid Tumor Cells Maintained in Culture2

Abstract
The avian transmissible lymphoid tumor growing in muscle was found to be an excellent source of tumor cells for continuous suspension cultures. The proliferating, undifferentiated lymphoid cells produced type-C virus. Six of the cell lines were maintained for over 280 days in Hanks' minimal essential medium and retained properties characteristic of the original transmissible tumor cells.
