Abstract
Light trap data are discussed for cockroaches in 3 climatically different localities in Panama. Seasonal variation in abundance in cockroaches in the 2 sites with a pronounced dry season was similar and also not different from that of Homoptera and Sphingid moths in these same sites. In a relatively non-seasonal site the seasonality of the cockroaches was not different from that in the seasonal sites. This is in sharp contrast with large differences observed in other insects. There is some tendency for adults of some species of cockroaches to spread out over the season, possibly avoiding interspecific competition. Comparisons with the seasonality of cockroaches from elsewhere cannot be made due to lack of data. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
