Abstract
Inelastic neutron scattering measurements on a single crystal of NaNO3 have yielded the temperature behaviour of the lattice vibrations propagating along the threefold axis. Frequency, shifts and anomalous linewidths are observed near the order-disorder transition temperature (Tc=276C). In general, the observed behaviour is similar to that of the ammonium halide lattice modes. Keywords
