Abstract
Results are given that show how many tests of multiple traits must be judged significant before one can claim 95% confidence that any of the traits provide evidence of difference beyond that expected by chance occurrence. Examples are given for tests of two means, tests ofindependence in contingency tables and tests of association via correlation. Also, a conservative multivariate procedure is suggested for simultaneous assessment of confidence in results of tests of two means for multiple traits. Copyright © 1985.
