Abstract
Direct estimators ofLmoments are derived by following closely the definition ofLmoments. Using the derived direct estimators eliminates the need for using probability‐weighted moments when estimatingLmoments and thus the need for bringing in the subject of probability‐weighted moments when describing the method ofLmoments. Source code of a FORTRAN subroutine for calculatingLmoments using the direct estimators is listed. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
